“Loving-kindness means having intentions of well-wishing and the capacity to bring joy and happiness to yourself and others. When you wish yourself well, you’re able to better hold difficult emotions. You “re-mind” yourself that you’re already whole and complete and worthy of giving and receiving love.” (Marotta 2013, 148).
Ask yourself: “Do I find myself being critical of myself or others with feelings of ill-will or do I send myself and others intentions of well-being?”
Cultivate Loving-kindness. Make an intention to send messages of kindness to yourself and others (i.e. “May I/you be safe, healthy, happy, have ease of well-being”). Notice feelings of contentment arise. Throughout the day practice these “random acts of kindness.”
