Mindfulness is a paradoxical practice. It invites you to turn toward that which is difficult. For example, to keep your car from skidding out of control when driving on an icy road, turn toward the skid. To maintain your balance, speed, and control, shift your weight forward on the skis. It’s counter-intuitive, and it works.
