“To move from a place of scarcity to one of abundance, paradoxically, you let go. You participate in the very practice of letting go: generosity. Generosity, the practice of giving without needing to get anything in return, is considered the most basic way to find freedom from suffering.” (Marotta 2013, 165).
Inquiry:
Ask yourself: “Do I feel deprived in some way, holding tightly to what I have, because it doesn’t feel as if there’s enough to go around or do I act from a place of abundance and give without needing anything in return?”
Practice:
Cultivate Generosity. Make an intention to practice generosity such as giving others food, money, or shelter, or in intangible ways, such as giving someone your full attention, love, acceptance, or a smile.
