And The Lantern Shines Bright
I crawl through the opening
That brings me into
That little house of mine
In the woods.
I find a match
That finds a candle
That starts to flicker.
Then the lantern shines bright,
And my world lights up.
I reach in my bookshelf
For that part of me I hide
In the little blank book.
My pen starts to flow
With the feeling I have
Held all day.
Waiting…
For this time
When I become
That part of me I hide.
Until…
I light the match
Til the candle flickers
And the lantern shines bright.
