Acceptance, Compassion, & Virtue

Acceptance, Compassion, & Virtue

  • April 11, 2016

When you cultivate mindful self-esteem, the qualities of acceptance, compassion, and virtue live within you as inseparable triplets” (Marotta, 2013, 7).

Inquiry
If there was nothing to chase after—no external measures of true success and no need to be separate and distinct to prove your true worth—could you find “more in less?”

Practice
Just for today, notice when you’re striving—a sense of pulling against or pushing forward—either running away by trying to compensate for past failings or rushing toward by attempting to accomplish goals. Notice the energy behind the striving. Is there, for example, anxiety, fear, or doubt fueling the drive?

This post is part of a series. If you haven’t already, please read my introduction to “Mindful Self-Esteem“.
