When you cultivate the qualities for mindful self-esteem, you plant the seed of letting be. Start by recognizing when grasping or avoiding is occurring. Get to know it. How does it feel in the body, what thoughts arise, and what emotions manifest? Pay attention to whether you’re holding tension in your body; if you’re thinking you want more or less or are locking on to ideas; and if there’s an undercurrent of restlessness such as frustration or boredom driven by habit, craving or fear.
Next notice when letting be is occurring and get to know it through body sensations, thoughts, and emotions. Pay attention to warm or calm sensations in the body; if your thinking is non-reactive to the situation; and if this leads to feelings of acceptance and well-being. Allow the wholesomeness of letting be to brew so you’re apt to drink from the cup of letting be.
