Winter, Spring, Summer,
Fall into spaces between.
In breath. Out breath. Pause.
-Janetti Marotta
This post is part of my Haiku series. If you haven’t already, please read my “Introduction to Haiku” post.
Short practice:
To stop reacting on automatic pilot, take a pause. Notice your thoughts, then your emotions without doing anything to change or avoid them. Simply notice what is occurring mentally and emotionally. Next notice your physical sensations. Place your attention here. Breathe space into areas of physical tension. Stretch, twist, bend, wring out tightness, constriction, pain. Once settled, return to your situation from this still, quiet place.
“Pause, observe, return with awareness.”
