Being True to Yourself

Being True to Yourself

  • April 18, 2016

On the path of mindfulness, true self-esteem is being true to yourself” (Marotta, 2013, 78).

Inquiry
In your quest for external validation driven by striving imagine what it would be like to engage in non-striving—having clear intentions, staying focused, being a keen observer, and allowing life to unfold as it will?

Practice
Practice non-striving today. Place attention on being, not doing; on seeing, not seeking; on staying process oriented, not goal oriented. Instead of being motivated by “musts” and “shoulds”, open to the present moment just as it is, just as you are.

This post is part of a series. If you haven’t already, please read my introduction to “Mindful Self-Esteem“.
